Hay Fever and Nasal Allergies

Private Treatment London

The Harley Street Nose Clinic has expertise in assessing and treating nasal allergies. We understand how allergies can interrupt day-to-day activities, and we can offer solutions to ease and, in some cases, eradicate your symptoms.

I had a septoplasty procedure with Mr Roberts to straighten my deviated septum and in turn relieve the awful breathing issues I’d been experiencing for a very long time. I had my surgery in May, now a month on I’m healing so well and breathing better than I ever have. It’s the best feeling! Couldn’t of been more impressed with Mr Roberts and his assistant Hayley. The whole process was seamless and easy. I felt fully supported and in the very best hands. Thank you so much!

Hay Fever specialists

Hay fever is a common allergy that predominantly affects sufferers during periods when the pollen count is high. Cases can range from mild symptoms that are manageable to severe symptoms that cause distress for sufferers.

While many people can manage their hay fever symptoms using over-the-counter treatments, if hay fever hay fever is affecting your life, our ENT specialists are on hand to help.

Assessment

Our assessment process involves a full investigation of your history, thorough examination and, if necessary, expert allergy testing. This allows us to create the best treatment plan for you, your hay fever and your lifestyle.

Treatments for hay fever

We use the best current evidence to prescribe medications, following international guidelines. Cleaning the nose with salt water washes can also be very helpful. In difficult-to-treat cases, there is sometimes a role for immunotherapy (treatment to make patients no longer allergic) and limited surgery to reduce nasal blockage.

Nasal Allergy  – Allergic rhinitis

You may suffer from nasal allergies all year round, and it can be debilitating to live with sneezing, itchy eyes and irritated sinuses.

You may not know exactly what is causing your discomfort or how to manage your symptoms. If that is the case, The Harley Street Nose Clinic can help you.

Diagnosing causes of nasal allergy

A large part of the assessment for nasal allergies will be allergy testing alongside an examination of the inside of the nose and an investigation of your history.

Common causes of allergic rhinitis include house dust mites, animals, and mould.

Once we have identified the cause of your allergy, we can then establish a diagnosis and the most effective treatment plan.

Treatment for nasal allergies

Each case will be different depending on the cause of your nasal allergies and to what extent you can reduce your exposure.

We can advise you on the most appropriate medications, treatments, and, in some cases, nasal surgery to reduce nasal inflammation (turbinoplasty).
