Endoscopic orbital decompression
Endoscopic orbital decompression is a surgery typically performed to relieve exophthalmos (a condition of the eye causing it to bulge).
Endoscopic orbital decompression will increase the space available for the eye’s orbital contents, allowing the eye to return to a more normal position and improving vision. Often perform this on patients suffering from thyroid conditions, eye pain, headaches, and visual loss.
The surgery is usually carried out through the nostrils. The wall of the eye socket is removed to create more space for the eye and the structures around it. This relieves pressure on the eye or optic nerve and allows the eye to resume a more normal position. The surgery is performed under general anaesthetic, and you are likely to be able to go home on the same day.
Endoscopic pituitary surgery
Endoscopic pituitary surgery removes certain types of tumours that start to grow in the pituitary gland, including hormone-secreting tumours, non-hormone-secreting tumours, and cancerous to the effectiveness of this type of surgery it has become the gold standard for removing pituitary tumours, avoiding the need for more invasive neurosurgical operations.
Endoscopic repair of cerebrospinal fluid leaks
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak is an escape of the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. It can cause severe headaches, a constant dripping of clear fluid from the nose, meningitis, light sensitivity, nausea and neck stiffness and is a very serious condition.
We perform CSF Leak closure surgery endoscopically through the nose whilst you are under general anaesthetic. Your surgeon will identify the leak and repair it using cartilage and other tissue from the ear and nose.
